red berries!

It's red berry season! Yipee! These were foraged as I was driving along last week. I keep pruners (and now Bogs garden shoes) in the trunk of the car for occasions such as these. With that, my love of Jessica Fletcher, (and the fact the we drive a gold Corolla - have you ever seen anyone under 70 driving a gold Corolla?) I think I'm kind of a senior at heart. Oh dear.

  1. Love, love, love red berries of all shapes and sizes.

And if those things make you old, then save some room on that bench for me. I'll be along as soon as I pop my teeth back in... ;)

  2. So pretty and bright! I also carry my folding clippers on walks and in the car. I found gorgeous rosehips mid-October that I have in a vase with my dried hydrangeas.

  4. they look great - do you know what the name of the plant is called that they came from? I was told they are Nova Scotia Holly - but of course that was here in NS - maybe it is called New Brunswick Holly in NB and so on? thanks Nancy LeB in Braeshore, NS

  5. Nancy, I have no idea what they're called. They don't have an evergreen leaf, and don't resemble true holly at all, other than the red berries. But as an informal name, it works, I suppose! They seem to grow best where it's wet, in ditches and such. I'll let you know if I find out!
