snowdrops

These little beauts have popped up all over the yard, and I was tickled to bring a couple inside to enjoy. There are some purple crocuses up, too, but I haven't had a chance to ask them to pose. I'm working on a new blog header this evening and trying my hand at Photoshop. If you don't know what you're doing and your competent husband isn't home to help, it can be a little bit confusing to figure out. All in all, I think I'm doing quite well, though! Hopefully the new header will be up tonight. Happy Thursday!

i opt out - do not call list

You're sitting at your table at suppertime, and the phone rings. You answer, then there's a brief pause and a click after you say hello. If this makes you hang up because you know it's a telemarketer calling, this news is for you!

I heard about this on the radio this morning and thought I would share - ioptout.ca is a site (a free public service provided by Michael Geist) where Canadians can register to have their names and information removed from telemarketers' lists which won't be included in upcoming federal legislation. We really don't get too many calls, but I registered this evening. There is an option when registering for your personal information to be deleted in 24 hours, and you can select the parties you don't want calling from lists.

If you're in the US, you can go here to remove your name.

boggles, the boy who wore goggles, sporting his summer '08 collection

I'm hearing people thinking that there hasn't been a Phillip picture in a couple of days. Here he is, sporting sunglasses at lunchtime.

OK, that's enough posts for today. I'm off to do some reading in The Spiral Staircase by Karen Armstrong.

new milled soap

I whipped up these milled batches the other evening, and I'm tickled with how they turned out. They're made by recycling leftover bits of my soap, from when I trim it to make it smooth. There are three bars like this, lightly scented with vanilla. Mmmm!
