new soaps

I did get those four batches of soap made last night, and here's my revised Chocolate Peppermint soap. I added cocoa to the recipe for a nice chocolate-y colour, and other than that, it's exactly the same. Loads of rich cocoa butter and creamy lather. It will be in my Etsy shop in a few weeks!

Adam took these yesterday of Phillip, who turned one year old. We had a nice little supper with some grandparents here in person and some via Skype. Wow. One year old! Happy Birthday, P!

What do the two have in common, you might wonder? Nothing at all, really. I was buying some soap supplies at Hands on Crafts this afternoon, and Susan Hood was demonstrating glass bead making. To be honest, I had never though twice about glass beads, but I asked her a few questions, and we ended up talking for quite awhile. Fascinating medium, and we're going to be doing a swap! She's going to make a custom bead pendant for me, in exchange for some soap loveliness.

On to kayaking - a beginner's course is being offered here this summer, and Adam and I are signing up! I am beside myself with excitement.
